CDW Urges Quick Confirmation of NLRB Nominations
On July 17, 2025, President Trump nominated Scott Mayer, Chief Labor Counsel at Boeing, and James Murphy, a former career official with the NLRB, to serve as Board members on the National Labor Relations Board. President Trump previously nominated Crystal Carey, an attorney at Morgan Lewis, to serve as the Board’s General Counsel.
The following statement can be attributed to CDW Chair Kristen Swearingen:
“It is essential to our nation’s economic wellbeing to have a fully functioning NLRB as well as well-qualified individuals serving on the Board. CDW applauds President Trump’s nominations of Scott Mayer, James Murphy, and Crystal Carey, all of whom are capable, competent individuals who will serve admirably. CDW urges the Senate to move swiftly to confirm these three nominees in hopes that the Board can then begin the process of reestablishing balance to the NLRB’s policies and priorities following the extreme agenda of the Biden administration. We also urge the president to nominate a candidate to fill Chair Kaplan’s spot, as his term ends in August.”
