CDW Applauds Senate for Rejecting McFerran’s Inappropriate Nomination

On December 11, the Senate rejected Lauren McFerran’s nomination to serve another term on the National Labor Relations Board.

The following statement can be attributed to CDW Chair Kristen Swearingen:

“The Senate has rejected Lauren McFerran’s nomination, recognizing that her deeply troubling tenure and the severe condemnations her policies have received from the courts, the Office of the Inspector General, and Congress all make her unfit to continue to serve.

“Moreover, her confirmation would have blocked President-Elect Trump from pursuing his policy agenda – an agenda that the voters resoundingly supported in the election.

“This nomination was an inappropriate power grab by an outgoing administration and would have guaranteed ever-more radical interpretations of the NLRA. By rejecting it, Congress has provided the new administration with the opportunity to stabilize labor-management relations, which is desperately needed after the last four years. CDW applauds the Senate for this decision.”
